I am excited to have been invited to exhibit with the Pop-Up Gallery at Lisbon’s Palacete Gomes Freire in March 2026.
The Pop-Up Gallery is a dynamic, women-led initiative that fundamentally reimagines how art is experienced by rejecting the traditional confines of the "white cube." They ‘curate powerful exhibitions that transcend borders, establishing a vibrant dialogue between diverse artistic voices and extraordinary architectural settings. Our mission is to transform unconventional spaces into temporary, immersive stages for cultural exchange.’
Titled Crossroads the aim of the exhibition is ‘to foster a dialogue among artists from diverse backgrounds who explore hybridity, migration, memory, and transformation. Visually inspired by ancient maps, reimagined azulejos (tiles), and the pathways of the sea, the exhibition will delve into themes of transit, encounter, identity, mixture, and border.’
I will be showing two works: Agape and Limerence, both created in response to the themes of this exhibition, using a process of painting from a liminal state of exploration and discovery.
